Members of the Conspiracy Ensemble get together to provide an improvised score to folkloric archive film footage from the North East. The film moves through the region’s shipbuilding, mining, and musical heritage; displaying images and stories of the ghosts of the past that shaped our region.

Before the performance, Dr Adam Soper will present a short talk contextualising the screening and performance; highlighting the importance of music and creativity as community – not industry – and the responsibility of a critical approach to heritage-based creative practice.
