After re-grouping in 2004, the Nightingales settled into a long-standing lineup centred around original lyricist/singer Robert Lloyd. This formation includes Andreas Schmid (from Faust) on bass, former Violet Violet drummer Fliss Kitson, and guitarist James Smith.
Since restarting, this version of the band has been highly productive, releasing nine full-length studio albums, several EPs and singles, and touring regularly across the UK, Europe, and the USA. Operating independently without a manager or booking agent, the group has been releasing records with Tiny Global Productions since 2017. Their recent work includes the 2020 album “Four Against Fate” and the feature-length documentary “King Rocker,” written by Stewart Lee.
